MBT Phase I

MBT Phase of life can be described by few words. Great friends , lousy job and pune was nice for first six months. So truth number 1,2 and 3is that job was lousy. There was no way i could demonstrate organizational skills or technical skills. The manager people were hard-pressed to find "jobs" for us. And whatever was there was anyway some dog-shit like VB, D2K or MVS/JCL. Imagine people clambering over each other to get a project involving Active server pages. such was the case!!

This was my first introduction to real life. We wanted to classify this new life under some rules and this is what we came up with. Rule number 1, you do not need to do anything on a real job , if you want you can just slink away and no body misses you. Rule number 2 and all other rules i do not remember now. I think we hated this job so much that the hate took precedence over everything. Every day and night there
was just one shout in my head, i want to get out of this fucking job, i want to get out of this fucking job. Lot of friends felt like me and did like me.

So was there any positives, any lessons of life ?

Nationa undergoing Dramas Rajeev needs resolution

So Sonia does not want to be PM. Its a neat little surprise , the PM of our country. Hope i can catch all the drama when i reach home, Right now i am waiting for Odu to come online. It's time now to pull my socks and actually start writing a good application essay. Ok, let me see how to start, a point-wise list:
1) Get help of others, try to get essays of Mohit, kg, ojha's friend and if possible, murgi's
2) Read other's essays, put your thoughts, and create a draft by month-end
3) Get the deadlines of schools nailed to Door, i want to be an early bird this Time.
4) get a memory stick for moving docs between home and office.
5) spend some time on BW forums now, might get some help from people who have cracked it from bangalore.

ok, so do away with procastinations and get up and get moving. Frankly it has been a long long time since toefl exam, 12 days to be precise and i have achieved nothing in the mean-time and at this rate i would just plain struggle. sept. 2005 is decided and one good application essay is required.

Keep it for tomorrow if you can

Seems like a cool day in office today after all the rush we had yesterday. This is one feature of my job that is not very understandable to other peoples. sometimes I prowl the nights and sometimes i can be seem in other comnapy's cafeterias right during office time. So had a lot to do this morning, make and send DD , enquire about the courier, arrange for the books. Now is the time for some game action.
Seems like I am always following the diktat that if it can be done tomorrow just do it tomorrow. So i am going to worry abt it apping shapping tomorrow only. and there will always be a tomorrow!! For the moment all of us are playing Get out of the Room ....

Exams are over and apping is in offing

Finally on May 7 , 2004 i "typed" the exam that i have been thinking of writing since 1998. Back then i would have decided on GRE + TOEFL combination but now it is GMAT+TOEFL. During the TOEFL exam i realized two things. first, there is actually no need to prepare for it. two people are talking and you have to say what they are talking about. So either you know it or you dont [ in case the talk happens in an alien language] Second point is, listen to what all people around you say but do what you are most comfortable doing.

People say lot of thigs and some may even work for you, but there is no need to change your habits just because it does not fall in line with "The correct thing to do". Like when i am doing reading comprehension [RC] i actually go very fast when answering the questions. That is what i normally do and unnecessary slowing my speed would not help me at all. belive me, has never helped. I think exams were the easy part, the difficult part is making a good application story board.

I think a good story board should be able to link all past , present and future activities. Basically it should show that you are indeed striving for a goal. Hmmm , i am sounding like a Pro without writing a single line ..:o) Enough, i think i will keep collecting my thoughts here as i go along with the app process. Tomorrow what went inside my head when writing the GMAT, will introduce MG and ROJA , OHM and JANTU and tips for future GMAT wanna-bes
